WHAT'S THIS?

We often talk about 5-axis machining and the capabilities today truly are amazing. But we don't always show how it all comes together to create a complicated part. Let's fix that.

 

THAT'S COOL!

Our customer works in the food industry, so Delrin POM plastic (Polyoxymethylene) is an excellent, food-safe choice.

Of course, before we start cutting, we create the CAM program to make sure the results will match the customer's drawings. Here's a short video snippet.

And here is the final result.

For the particular application demanded by our customer's own customer, part requires each hole to have a different angle which is seen in the picture above.

Traditional 3-axis machining techniques cannot accomplish this, but today's 5-axis machines (plus EMI's talented machinists!) enable previously impossible geometries, on demand.
