11 Benefits of Outsourcing with EMI

At the heart of every outsourcing decision is a simple fact:

"You can't be all things to all people … but you've gotta be something to someone."

In other words, trying to do too many things leads to a lack of focus, which leads to mediocrity in all areas. The better alternative is to pinpoint the area(s) where you are world-class and execute on those only.

The core advantage of working with EMI is that we help our partners with outsourced manufacturing so they can access expanded capabilities without buying new machines.

Cutting to the chase, companies that outsource with EMI can focus their energies on the areas where they truly excel.

Here are 11 business benefits of partnering with EMI to outsource your manufacturing.

  1. Lower Operational Costs
  2. Access to Specialized Expertise in Machining, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Programmers, and Quality Control
  3. Scalability & Flexibility for Your Production Volume
  4. Marketplace Agility
  5. Supply Chain Efficiency, Diversification & Resiliency
  6. Economies of Scale
  7. Access to Specialized & Advanced Technologies
  8. Risk Mitigation Associated with Equipment Downtime & Labor Shortages
  9. Faster Time to Market for New Product Introductions
  10. Reduced CapEx Spending
  11. Design Optimization: Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly & Design for Machinability

If you think your business can benefit from some or all of the above, let's talk.

A CNC milling machine named DMG Mori DMC75 Monoblock with attached automated pallet handling system

Serving You Better:  Expanded Capabilities

In October we installed another 5-axis CNC milling center, our 8th 5-axis machine!

This brand new DMG Mori DMC75, with an attached automated pallet handling system, is a big fella!

Sitting next to it's equally large DMU75 brother it's ready for anything, holding 120 tools and handling parts up to 24.5" x 28.5" x 20".

Even better, the attached automated pallet handling system gives us more options for how we can serve you.

How This Can Help You

For Production Quantities
    • This means we can serve you faster and more flexibly across all three shifts for even the most complicated parts.
For "RUSH" orders
    • The pallet system means we have the ability to 'cut in' more easily to fulfill any urgent production needs you might have without compromising quality.

Take a Look!

We would love to show it to you in action as part of a full facilities tour.

A Message of Thanks

"As the trees shed their leaves and winter arrives here in New England, I think about what we've accomplished in serving our customers over the past 58 years.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to work with so many terrific people and help them create the solutions that serve their own customers.

"In 2025 many of my customer conversations focused on dealing with and working through supply chain difficulties.

"And while some uncertainties remain, there is one thing you can always bank on: the 70-strong EMI family remains committed to transparency and delivering the results you need from an outsourced production partner.

"Thanks again for your confidence in EMI this year. I hope you'll have a festive holiday season filled with family cheer … and will challenge us to serve you even better in 2026."
