Holey Moly!

This beauty is our Part of the Week. Let's take a look!

WHAT'S THIS?

This picture shows a complicated stainless steel part we regularly work on, using one of our 5-axis milling centers.

Circular stainless steel part with a very complicated pattern of holes. A few temporary marks made with a red marker are on the surface at the top and on the right hand side.

Actually, this in NOT the world's most impractical frisbee ... but it could be!

THAT'S COOL!

Through holes, threaded holes, holes with other holes inside 'em ... there is A LOT going on with this tight tolerance piece!

Getting each hole and each grouping and each slanted surface exactly right takes experience, focus and understanding.

We've been producing this part for our customer for some time now, but the sense of satisfaction from getting it exactly right never grows old.

Oh yes, once more thing. The red marks are temporary and are used to identify where we hold the part.

ABOUT POW!

Each week we will feature something we've been working on. We hope you'll find these posts informative.
