So, I just read an article in Manufacturing Tomorrow and it really struck a chord.

The article is titled "Why The Real Bottleneck in Physical AI Isn’t the Model—It’s Manufacturing" and it hits many of the real challenges that robotics firms (and automation companies more broadly) face today:

1. Scaling from a great prototype and a signature lead test customer to actual production volumes
   • It's easy to get caught flat-footed by a small, seemingly innocuous part that just isn't available in your desired quantities. And won't be scaled as fast as you'd like.
     
     
2. Supply Chain Fragmentation
   • ... and Supplier Scarcity when you're creating something new are both hugely important to plan for & contend with.
     
     
3. Software AI and Physical AI
   • ... are ENTIRELY. Different. Beasts. Forward planning, change implementation timelines, settling on the proper performance benchmarks & measuring sticks are different for each discipline. 

These insights match a lot of what I'm seeing & hearing as we work with Robotics and Advanced Automation companies and I salute Dave Evans*, the article's author, for his thoughts.
