This is one of EMI's chip barrels.
I was walking though the shop the other day with something on my mind when I pulled up short.
Like every machine shop, EMI collects metal chips as they come out of our production machines. In our case, we put them in large iron barrels which makes it easy for our recylcing partner to do their work.
Like finding a flower sprouting from a crack in a sidewalk, I suddenly noticed the staining on the side of the barrel. Beautiful.
Normally we don't much like rust. But this exceptional. And acceptable.
