VENDOR TRANSITION SUPPORT

Change Doesn't Have to Be Hard

Managing Supply Chain Continuity Risk

We know that changing vendors can be stressful and worrisome.

For our customers nothing is more important than maintaining supply chain continuity and our goal is to make the transition go as smoothly as possible.

Our playbook includes reviewing and planning each step of the change operation.

STEP 1: Part Analysis and Design Review

  • Many times a process in need of improvement also needs a part design improvement
  • Sometimes bundling manufacturing activities into new assemblies can yield significant productivity and cost gains
  • EMI's Engineering Support service will study your existing parts and assemblies with an eye toward finding those efficiency gains

STEP 2: DFM, DFA and DF-Machinability Review

  • Hand in hand with the Part Review is a chance to look for improvements in manufacturing, assembly & machinability

STEP 3: Trail Run - Prototyping

  • EMI will machine prototypes to verify the expected gains and assure the quality of output

STEP 4: Inventory Management, Transportation & Fulfillment

  • Depending on how your supply chain is structured and managed, EMI will coordinate with your procurement team to ensure consistency of the flow of parts and assemblies into your own production system, including forecasting, resupply and delivery options

STEP 5: Certs and Paperwork

  • All of the above depends on ensuring the documentation will flow as smoothly as the production and delivery

STEP 6: Hands On Management

  • When the time comes to change, we will actively coordinate with your team to handle any matters that might arise during the transition
