An Engineer's Delightful Dream

This beauty is our Part of the Week. Let's take a look!

WHAT'S THIS?

This was a fun one for the 5-axis milling team.

THAT'S COOL!

Sometimes you just have to sit back and appreciate the creativity of the engineers who design the parts we coax from the metal.

As a job shop and contract manufacturer we often have no idea about the end use of the parts we're asked to mill and turn and grind and weld and etc.

Funky Part - Front Side CROP MIN

Maybe it's a prototype for a new board game?

But we see so many parts and drawings that things tend to a follow a handful of archetypal shapes.

This one defies easy categorization ... but is nevertheless cool.

Funky Part - Back Side CROP MIN

Or, maybe this is one kerrayzee coat hanger?!!

6061 Aluminum that took a number of milling operations and careful sequence planning to get the very tight dimensional tolerances and flatness just right.

ABOUT POW!

Each week we will feature something we've been working on. We hope you'll find these posts informative.
